I have been wanting to feature other long distance relationship couples for the longest time. To share other long distance stories! Ever since I joined the LDRBN community, I am amazed to see how many different kinds of long distance relationship out there! It's very humbling to be able to connect with people who are in a similar yet different situation. My first featured couple is Anna from sunshine and snowstorms and her handsome beau, Jade, yes, his name is Jade like the stone and colour. According to Anna, it wasn't a popular name when he was born, his mom considered is as a unisex name! Definitely a quirky, cool name, but who am I to say? How many "Khairas" have you met?
Read on below to find out more about this lovely couple!
Tell us a little bit about your long distance relationship?
Jade and I met online on Omegle in 2013. We started dating a month after meeting in July and have been together ever since. I live in Finland whereas Jade is located on the other side of the planet, in California, US. There are over 5500 miles in between. Jade has visited me twice and I have visited him twice and I cannot wait to see him again, whenever that happens.
What do you do when you guys are apart?
Plenty of things! We have Skype dates, spend a lot of hours talking on FaceTime, we send each other letters and care packages… We even fall asleep on call. I consider LDR to be just like any other relationship. It makes it a little bit easier to handle. When you love someone a whole lot, you want to make it work from apart.
What do you find the most difficult about being in a long distance relationship?
The lack of physical closeness. I am a person who absolutely loves being touched and held and being 5500 miles away from my significant other makes it pretty much impossible. If you are in LDR, you might know the joy of finally getting to embrace your loved one again. It’s beyond amazing.
Future hopes?
We plan to first get our schools done, I hope I get to go to university in Scotland and become a graphic designer and Jade wants to study film directing and screenwriting. When we’re done with that jazz, we hope to close the distance and settle in California.
