I am heading to see Don for a quick, sneaky trip! Earlier the month, I decided that I want to see Don. I miss him and I miss Perth. We’re not going to wait until Christmas to see each other. Making it another 5-6 months gap between our visits. Don couldn’t give me exact dates to when I could come because of work, but I wasn’t going to take no for an answer. After some stressful planning (for Don), I booked my flight ticket a week before I was intended to fly off. I only had a few days to pack and a day to organize my itinerary. I tried to let this trip be a free and easy one, but I couldn’t!! The OCD in me wrote a small, quick itinerary of place I want to go, eat, buy and people to meet.
I have been quite lucky to go on trips every month for the past 3 months. Packing has become significantly easier for me. As I was packing, I compiled a few of my travel staples. I didn’t know I had “staples” for my travels because I do different kinds of traveling. Turns out, I do. Here are some of my travel staples.
01 Neck Rest
I usually travel budget. AirAsia’s seats are so UNCOMFORTABLE. This is a MUST for my long-distance flights. Whoever invented neck rest, i love you!
02 iPad filled with movies/tv series
I am not a good long-distance flyer. Especially if I am traveling alone. I get bored and restless after an hour. It makes sense to try and talk to the person next to you, but I HATE it. I hate socialising on the plane. I like to just sit quietly, watch my shows and sleep.
03 Sweater
I never travel without a sweater. I am not good with cold (even air-condition). The air in the cabin is so dry that it also protects my skin and keep me warm. Not to mention, comfy!
04 Moisturiser/Hand cream/Face spray
Before getting on a flight, I would pile on LOTS of hydrating face moisturiser. But at the end of the flight, my face would still get dry and oily. My hands will start to itch because its dry. I am always lathering up. This time, I used my Clinque overnight mask. I found my solution! My skin was so hydrated and soft when I got off the plane.
05 Pen
Always always always travel with a pen. It’s to fill up the visa forms, arrival forms, departure forms and etc. You don’t have to ask the FA for a pen or stress about looking for Pen. Or wait for in line at the information desk to use one of the pens. It’ll save you SO much time!
