Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Friday, 30 November 2012

Had two of the longest days at work this week, 13 hours straight. I couldnt wait to get home. EAT, take off my make up and shower. One of the most satisfying thing for me after a long day is taking off my make up and getting my make off. I feel like after taking off my make up, that pretty much ends my day.

To be honest, i am exhausted but aaahhh this Naked Basic Palette has been on my mind the whole day and i wanted to read reviews on it before i sleep.

This is a perfect palette for beginners or girls who dont like to use much eye make up. Such pretty neutral colours!!
I am most excited about Crave. Its described as matte dark brownish black. I know, excited about a black eyeshadow? Weirdo. You have no idea how hard it is to find a mix of brown/black eyeshadow that suits me. A brown/black colour that doesnt look too harsh and a brown/black colour that doesnt look too soft. I quite keen on trying it on my eyebrows as well.

Looking at the colours...I can already picture how i'll be doing my eyes. :P

Hello!

Hi!

i dont think i properly introduced myself... i am Khaira ~awkward~ You can see my picture at the profile on the right side. im trying to figure out how to edit the profile, but i can seem to get to it! Dont worry, i'll get aroudn to it. SO, i am a crazy make up lover from Malaysia! I was using and buying loads of make up and i thought, why not start a blog!! All i do is read reviews, watch beauty videos and search for the right products for my skin, why not give out my own reviews.

So right now, i am slowly building up this blog and putting up content. I hope you enjoy reading my entries and comment! If you have a great product to share, comment me!

FOTD

Tuesday, 27 November 2012

Korea is the land of beauty. During my trip there, i swear, everyone had perfect complexion and every corner you go, there will be a beauty/cosmetic shop. (i went KRAZZZY make up shopping!) It was BB cream that re ignited my love for make up and ever since then i have never looked back.

The other day, i decided to go Korean! I used all my korean products right down to the brushes.

In no order: The Face Shop Power Perfection BB cream in Natural Beige, The Face Shop Baked Shimmer Blusher in 02 Coral Aura, Etude House Precious Mineral BB Compact, Tony Moly Cristal Blusher in 03, The Face Shop Color in Gloss (the colour number rubbed off), Tony Moly Tony Tint Cherry Pink, Missha Blush Brush and Tony Moly Gel Eyeliner in Black.

i went a little crazy with my lips. The tony tint is a SUPER pigmented lip/cheek tint. Think benefit’s benetint but 10 times pigmented! On top of that, the faceshop color gloss is already pigmented and BLOOD red. hehehe..

i have to rave about the Etude House mineral bb compact, its uh-maz-zing! On my super lazy days, i would apply my concealer and power this over, and im done! it gives such good coverage that i dont need anything else. I didnt notice it until a girlfriend complimented my “flawless” finish and asked what foundation i was using.

 No foundation, just powder. :P

Mascara

Tuesday, 27 November 2012

I have pathetic eyelashes. It really surprising, considering i have really thick hair, but my lashes are short and flat. i even considered doing eyelashes extensions but my girlfriends...advised me otherwise.

So with the help of these two wonderful saviours, my eyelashes are long and pretty! I used to use fibre to extend my lashes. >click here<

Sure, it gave me beautiful long lashes but the process was messy and long. The fibre would get on face and i would have to clean up. Im lazy. i like things fast and quick.

THEN i found Maybelline Magnum. I mean, the name itself screams volume and big fluttery lashes! I didnt need fibre for fluttery lashes, two coats of this baby, i was good to go. Again, it added volume to my lashes but not length. i wanted length.

The Urban Decay Cannonball Mascara is a gift from make up god. This was the first mascara i found that had fibre in it and waterproof. Its my mascara holy grail! On my lazy days, i curl my lashes, two coats of this, a little blusher and coloured lip balm and im off. The texture is a little too wet for my liking,if im not careful, it'll smudge on my eyelid after applying it. Im giving it a while to dry out for the right texture? Sometimes when i feel a little dramatic, i coat on my fibre and cannonball. i get super long lashes. i ~love~ it! hehehehe

Im currently looking for a good eyelash curler. Can anyone recommend me a good one?

Soap and Glory Flake Away! (Review)

Tuesday, 20 November 2012

I usually dont pay much attention to my body, i do scrub once in a while and moisturise after i shower. But thats only because i see the scrub when im showering and i see my lotion on my dresser as i am putting on clothes.
lately, i noticed that my skin has been really dry! it has come to the point where i HAVE use my Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream at work and sometimes feel like its not enough. I think its because im in an air condition environment most of my time during the day.
Last weekend, i went over to Sephora to pick up this wonderful sweet smelling scrub. I like the texture because it not too rough but not too soft. After scrubbing and washing it off, it felt a layer of oil on my skin and i could instantly feel like skin more moisturize. (but i washed it off with my body wash because….i dunno a layer of oil on my body feels weird)
After i got out, i slather my dermaveen oatmeal body lotion and went to bed. i woke up with the softest skin. I cant wait for the weekends because i am limiting myself to only scrub once a week, if not…over exfoliating is not cool.

Mac Blushes

Saturday, 17 November 2012

My first Mac blush is mocha. i wanted a colour that was perfect for both day and night, yes it was the perfect blush then. i used it everyday…until i got bored and wanted a different colour. i went back on the search for the “perfect” blusher.
It was a few blushes later, i realised…i will NEVER find my “perfect” blusher! There are so many different colours, textures, formulas and etc…finding “the one” would be impossible.

One of my uni mates got married and invited SB and i over for her reception. i did a simple smokey brown eye (i used smog, darkhorse and buck) and finally mastered the cat eye eyeliner.

Its the weekend! i always go almost bare during the weekends to let my skin breathe. i need my concealer and blusher, no matter what (ugly acne scars, boo!). i feel so naked without it. Nyx Round Lipstick (Another lipstick post!)

LEFT to RIGHTPARIS, B25 and LALA

I love the shades (Paris, B25 and Lala) i got. To me they are the perfect every day colour. I want to get more colours but refraining because i dont want my lipstick collection to be just be NYX. I want to have variety! Also, i dont want to them just because they are cheap. (RM 19, say whuuttttttt!!!)

I ~love~ the colours but the dont last. i have to re-apply every hour and by the 2nd hour i would just give and wipe off the lipstick and go bare. I have yet to try them with my Urban Decay Lip Primer Potion. In fact, i will try them on tomorrow, so wait for a review soon!

Nyx Matte Lipstick

Sunday, 4 November 2012

I avoided lipsticks for the longest time because i didnt like the sticky glossy feeling on my lips. At the same time, i didnt like that i looked pale when i dont wear lipstick. (but i still used it for vain reasons and brushed off the sticky feeling) Thats when i turned to matte lipsticks. i love bold lip colours and bold colours look best in matte. (to me at least) AND it doesnt have that sticky feeling on the lips.
Picked up NYX matte lipstick in merlot and natural. Merlot is by far, one of my favourite shades of red lipstick. Its not exactly red, somewhere pinkish wine. Natural is what i describe as your lip colour but better.

These babies can last for quite some time. i put Merlot on after breakfast and went out for a full day of shopping with my mom, sister and bro-in-law. After lunch, i realized the colour faded a little, i touched up. It lasted until i got home for tea. The colour glides on smoothly and its very pigmented.

Left: Merlot Right: Natural

Sucky thing is, it does emphasize dry lips, so you may want to put on balm before putting them on.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub (Review)

Sunday, 4 November 2012

I suffered from bad acne a few years back. My forehead was FULL of acne (i am not exaggerating) I went to see a skin specialist and he put on Roaccutane. It took me about 1.8 years to get almost perfect skin (i occasionally got small comodones).

But ever since i started work, i started breaking out again! I went back on Roaccutane. One of the side effects of the pill is…dry ness. It dries up all the oils so you dont get clogged pores. i dont know about other people, but my whole body gets dry, especially my lips. They get so chapped and urghh ugly.

.......and i found this delicious scrub! Its made out of sugar, flavouring and jojoba oil. Its quite pricy for a small little glass jar and the main ingredient is SUGAR. I got it in Singapore for $20 so when you convert to RM its around RM60. I guess you pay for the brand and the idea of it. BUT after you use it and lick your lips, its worth it. My lips feel so soft and plump.

To use it, take a little bit of the product with a clean finger and gently rub it on your lips to exfoliate the dry skin. You can either lick it of or wash it away. I like to take a wet tissue and wipe it off and then lick my lips. I like it sweet but not too sweet.
