Addiction

Friday, 29 November 2013

I have been wanting a deep wine colour lipstick for everyday wear. One that does not need effort to put on and goes with EVERYTHING. I asked a friend if she knows any and she said to test out Diva from MAC. The sucker i am, i got excited and headed out to MAC to test it out, but.......

The minute i walked in MAC i saw the Rihanna's MAC RiRi Hearts MAC Holiday 2013, i was drawn in to the lipsticks (usually i would check out the blushers first) and my eyes zoned into the taupey-nude-ish colour. ~The Bad Girl RiRi~ It was love at first sight. I took it, i tried it on. It was the perfect my lips-but-better colour. It a beautiful matte. I particularly like matte lipstick. I don't like shiny lips and i am slowly opening up to lip glosses (more on that later....) i held on to it while browsing the shop for other things. The sale assistant had to ask for the lipstick back from me. I get so excited and carried away some time.

While holding on to Bad Girl Riri (hehe), i checked out their other 2013 collection Divine Night. Plum/Mauve is my favourite lipstick colour. I think it suits my skin tone best. The one lipstick that gets most wear from my lipstick collection is my Revlon's Mauvy Night (473). The only thing i don't like about it is the formula. It doesn't last long and it runs, so whenever i kiss my niece, i leave her with a kiss mark on her cheeks. It wasn't hard to decide which colour i wanted from the Divine Night - Private Party. Its a plum mauve with a satin finish. The shade is very pigmented. I left the shop wearing this and it held on for about 4 hours with a slight fade. YES! that's exactly what i wanted. I really like the gold and black packaging. It reminds me of Revlon's packaging, i feel like i am getting an updated version of my Mauvy Night.

I cant wait for tomorrow to come so i can wear my new lipstick out. Deciding on which one...will be a tough one! i might have to go back to MAC to get my deep wine lipstick i initially went for. Lol, my priorities.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

Thursday, 21 November 2013

My first contact of this product was when i went on a weekend trip to Singapore. I was walking along one of the shopping malls (i cant remember which one) when a girl passed me a sample. By looking at the sample, i knew it was going to be a great product because the french always come up with good products. Like the Bioderma and the main reason of me going to Singapore to get my stock of Bioderma Crealine (and go to Universal Studio, haha!).

I didn't want to open my sample packet so i went to Sasa in BSC to test it out. i tested out the shimmer oil first which was a big mistake. I had shimmer glitter all over me, my hands, my arms, my face! To make it worse...i stupidly sprayed the oil on my hair straight instead of my hands first. so i had a blob of oily/shimmery bit on my hair. It was so messy and oily. i thought "No, this product is not for me."

That was a year ago...

Before i came back to KL from Perth for summer break, I was doing my 'last-minute' shopping in the city. I will never leave the city without going in Priceline, i have this unexplainable need to go into all the Priceline i see. I told myself, you cant buy anything because you are already over weight limit. You are there to look! Just look! but...pfft, i never listen to myself. while browsing the aisle, Priceline brought in a whole bunch of French cosmetics!! and my eyes landed at the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. Okay, i thought, lets give this product a second try. *This* time i tried the original version. It was perfect timing as well because i just ombred my hair and my ends were screaming for moisture.

My hair fell in love with the prodigious oil. at that point, i didn't care if i had weight constraints, i want this oil!! so yeah....i got it. i didn't need to be told twice. I also use it on my body, i have been using Huile Prodigieuse for almost two week on my arms, elbows and legs before i sleep. My elbows are the driest part of my body and after two weeks, they are more moisturised and soft.

Sometimes before i sleep, i would lather some on my hair and sleep with braids. I wake up the next morning with soft wavy hair. I am trying to avoid using heat on my hair and have been experimenting with getting wavy/curly hair without heat. Will take on that more later.

You can get your huile prodigieuse at Sasa if you are in Malaysia or Priceline if you are in Australia.

Priceline (Australia) : AUD 39.90
Sasa (Malayasia): RM 148

From left to right: Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express mascara, Nars Blusher in Orgasm, Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Audacious Asphalt, Bobbi Brown Long Gel Eyeliner in Twilight, Chanel CC Cream

The Chanel CC cream - i first saw it while flipping through a magazine while waiting for my turn to thread my eyebrows. I am a bb cream ~lover~ when i saw CC cream, i was so intrigued (people always get up my pants when i use words like intrigued when talking about make up, but really!! its how i feel, anywayyy...) I told my mom about it and the Chanel loving woman went straight to the stores to get it.

One of my biggest regret was not reviewing it before buying. i was so caught up in the new CC cream hype. When i first tried it on, it was too white for me...and gave me a grey cast. In my defense, i put on too much...but really... it wasnt right. i gave it a try for a week and sadly...i stopped using it for a good few  months, until recently, i thought why not give it another chance.

The trick to wearing this CC cream for me is build up. A little goes a long way. When i mean little, think smaller than a pin size drop and build up when you need more. It does give a beautiful dewy finish thats last! I can still a slight glow at the end of the day.

I wouldnt recommend getting this, it is quite pricey for a small tube.  RM170 = AUD56 But if you have almost perfect skin and just looking for light coverage, this is perfect for you.

This is my 2nd post about this miracle product. This is my 3rd tube. I still have nothing but good words for it. Read first post here

How i use it: I spray my Lush Tea Tree Water, slather this miracle on my face and let it dry. I love it because it helps reduce my redness and help lighten my acne scars. I like the fact it matify my face because oh hell lord, my face is so oily, i could probably fry an egg on it. Another plus factor about this product is that its absorbs into your skin very fast. No sticky feeling after.

Ro Argan Body Conditioner

Tuesday, 27 August 2013

Ever since i came to Perth, the weather has been playing with my skin. Its so dry!!!! I have a body lotion in my toilet, so i can lather on after i come out from the shower. One bottle on my desk, whenever i am doing my work, i can put some on and another one bottle on my vanity shelf, in case i forget to put some after i get out from the shower (which is MOST of the time).

This went on for a few months before i gave up. Thats when i headed over to Lush and found this miracle. Yes, miracle? because my skin says so. The first thing you would notice when you smell the conditioner from the tub is the SMELL. The tub says it is suppose to leave you smelling like Rose jam. To me...it smells of cream rose jam. its heavenly. Seriously, try to imagine a tub of creamy rose jam.

I have gone through a tub and i am on to my second tub. So, Ro's Argan body conditioner is like hair conditioner for your body. You slather it on in the shower while you are still wet, leave it on for a bit and wash it off. I was abit skeptical at first, but after i rinsed myself. I WAS SOLD! My skin was moisturised and i smelt amazing.

I have been using this every night and have been skipping my body lotion routine, but i might have to cut back a little and use it sparingly because its AUD32 a tub/225g. Sometime, i accidentally scoop out too much for one use. :( Its works so well because its packed with richly moisturising ingredients such as argan oil, cocoa butter, cupuacu butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil, shea butter and it goes on.

This is definitely one of my Perth's staple. i dont think i would like it much if i used it in Kuala Lumpur, due to Malaysia's humid weather.

EXCELLENCE

Thursday, 1 August 2013

I went back to Malaysia for 5 weeks and out of that 5 weeks, i worked for 4 weeks. Back to Zalora, helping Fazil and Azian with some BM translation project. I have to say that 4 weeks working there, i learn most compared to my one year stint before i resigned back in January.

Going back to Zalora, i could relive my love for excel. I never knew i had a hidden love for nerds or a nicer way to say it, someone who excels at excel. :P sorry! i just had too! If you told me 2 years ago i would HAVE to learn excel, formulas, macro and etc, i would have probably stared at the person and say, right? Excel? What else can you do with excel beside creating a school timetable with it? I was wrrroonng. After learning the basics of excel, i was hooked. I thought i was the coolest person when i learned how to =vlookup on my own and NOW i can create my own PivotTable and send out reports. ya, i know right? im the coolest (please shoot me now).

My obsession with excel is crazy that i have been looking for excel training courses here in Perth.

ok, just needed to share my current crazy obsession. its 12.51am, i really need to sleep now.

I care about my skin care regime, i read up about ingredients (i have alot of free time) and what is products are good for my oily/combination skin and etc, but at the same time, i am lazy, less steps the better! I find myself skipping toning.

I concluded that toners are just a waste of time, initially i thought toning is just to get rid of excess dirt that your cleanser didnt get rid of, but i use my clarisonic every alternate days, i am pretty confident that there is no excess dirt or make up on my face. I would look over my toner and move on to my moisturiser. After a while, i found my face tight and dry, i would lather up my Khiel's Midnight Recovery Concentrate at night and break out the next morning. It was really frustrating and annoying!

I went by Lush to pick up some winter supplies (more on that next time) and randomly decidedly to get their toner water. I used their Tea Tree Oil toner water before this and still had some left, so i got the Breath of Fresh Air to try it out. One of the reasons why i got the toner water....was that i could spritz it. Before i left to Perth, i got the Keihl's Herbal Extract Toner 500ml bottle!! Freaking huge bottle that took so much of my luggage weight and i barely used a quarter of it. I love the product, but im so lazy to wipe it all over my face, especially in the morning because i am always late for class! (keyword: lazy). im loving i can spritz my Lush toner water. ~spritz spritz spritz~

After 3 days of using it, i could feel the difference. My face felt hydrated and i could feel my moisturiser sinking in my skin alot faster! Seriously loving it now, i want to make this as permanent in my skincare regime BUT...i can ony do so after i finish my Herbal Extract Toner...which might take years...

This is long overdue.

Wednesday, 20 March 2013

Tomorrow marks one month of me being away from home. how time flies. i can still remember trying to pack all my life into two suitcases. i thought i brought ALOT of things, but now when i am settled, i realised...i didnt bring enough things! i need more baju rumah, i need more shorts (i only brought one and its the shortest i own, wth was i thinking?) i need more long sleeves tops because the weather is so confusing, its hot, its cold! and i need a freaking gayung. WHY DIDNT I THINK OF IT?? i cant seem to buy clothes here, everytime i see a piece i like, i look at the price tag, i put it back. i saw a lovely silver sweater at Forever New. its 69.90 AUD after converting its around rm210. i think, i can get the same one at H&M for cheaper OR i say, i might as well get it at ZARA, it'll be more worth it. I try not to buy from their chain stores because everyone dresses the same here. especially the boys, its like copy and paste.

As much as i dont want to admit this, urghh, i am bored. i am bored of being on campus all the time. Should have gone to Melbourne.

Other than my rants, i am officially an aunty!!! my sister in law gave birth to baby Alani Diyanah on 16 March!!!!! my dad who usually talks to me "through" my mom or my cat, he will text me things like this "Mommy wants to know what are you doing?" "Ash thinks your room is messy" - hint to clean up my room.  Now he says "Baby wants to know why you are not studying?"

Its so cute to see my parents swoon over this little baby.

Speaking of studying, IT.IS.SO.HARD.TO.GET.BACK.ON.STUDYING.MODE. i swear, everyday i write down things i have to do which includes doing my assignments, mostly research stuffs but i somehow find other things to do during the day. Cleaning the kitchen seems more interesting, doing my laundry seems more fun and etc. i got to get my head in the game because when April comes, i will be quite busy with my assignments and i have to catch with the rest of the students here.

a trip to the city.....

Friday, 8 March 2013

Its my 2nd weekend here in Perth and i was getting a little restless being on campus grounds all week. I wanted to explore Perth but had noone (who was free) with the same wave length as me.

It took me about 10 minutes to decide if i wanted to go to the city by myself. by bus. my first time. The adventurer in me, kicked in and off i went. i was planning on getting my jacket, but of course, i didnt based on the pictures. I went in Myers and i felt right at home with all the make up counters. My concealer is finishing, so i headed over to Clinique to check out their Even Better range.

It took a while for the SA to get my colour right. I am so tanned now because of summer and i'll (i hope too) get fairer when fall/winter comes, so i decided to get a shade lighter than my current skin tone. Clinique in Myers had a promotion where if you spend $60 you get a gift bag full of deluxe sample sized goodies! i cant resist offers like that, so i picked up the Even Better Foundation. The gift bag they gave were very impressive. Super excited to try out the night moisturizer.

1. Even better concealer in Almond
2. Even better foundation in 08 Beige

Gift bag
1. Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips
2. Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula
3. Youth Surge SPF 15 Ag Decelerating Moisturizer
4. Youth Surge Night Age Decelerating Night Moisturizer
5. Quickliner For Eyes Instense
6. High Impact Mascara
7. Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

They gave a cosmetics bag as well.

Covergirl Clump Crusher (Review)

Sunday, 3 March 2013

One of the first things i did when i touched down Perth was go to the supermarket (my favourite place in the world) and check out their beauty products!!!

i had mixed feelings. 1. There is (obviously) more choices here than KL. yay!! 2. It is much more expensive here. may!! :( I picked up the Covergirl Clump Crusher because it was 10AUD. Introductory price, if not its 17-18 AUD. Again i say, i have really limp eyelashes, i thought it wasnt going to do much, but surprsingly!!! i had really plump eyelashes the whole day. I think this might be a staple in my mascara collection.

PERTH

2013 New Year Resolution

Thursday, 14 February 2013

Yes, i know i am almost 2 months late for this! i still have a week left to the end of February, its better late than never.

  • To invest in timeless heels and WEAR them more. Ive always loved heels but feel so self concious for being overly tall. but no more, i am going to work it like Kimora Lee Simmons. (she was already 5'10 at 10 years old!!)
  • Eat healthier. Ive already started on green smoothie diet. Less sugar, less fat, less salt.

  • Start yoga. - i am not flexible. i hurt my back a few year back by falling down my uncles wet drive way, ever since then, my back became stiff.
  • Get my masters.

Good luck to me!!

the love of my life

Monday, 28 January 2013

Ash looking not impressed. He was annoyed - who likes it when you are sleeping and someone shoves a camera with blinking red light in front of your face. Ash doesnt.

  • I am currently freaking out quietly in my head about how to pack my half my life in about a month time for 2 years. I started by clearing out my old clothes, bags and next i will move on to the random stuffs underneath my desk. Urgh...freaking out.
  • I cant decide which white Converse high tops to get, Leather VS Canvas. When you are not working and have nothing else to do, things like this will be the woe of you.

Ouch!

Had to go do my medical check up the other day at Life Care in Bangsar South. i was truly impress by the efficiency of the place. I have been through many medical check ups but nothing beats this experience. Lol, i make it sound like its so cool. While waiting for my number to call be called out, i paid.
Rm210 for the basic test - urine and xray. FYI.

After i paid, a lady brought me into a room to check my heart rate and my weight. (CRY - im still not losing weight) then she brings me into another room to check my eyesight and takes a picture of me. I hate impromptu picture especially if they are needed to be a system. whoever will be checking my picture will be scarred for life. i looked like a witch. Early morning and no make up. i hope that explains.

They had a really nice waiting area. Big and spacious. i was waiting to do my Xray next.

No one told me i needed my passport to do my medical, which of course i didnt bring. *wtf face* Rushed home to get it and panicked because it wasnt where its supposed to be. my mom who was with me all the while...realized it was with her IN HER HANDBAG. (aku stress)

Last was going in to see the doctor. She did the normal checking and asked 101 questions. Overall, it only took about 30 minutes max for my medical test. After that, i went to publika with my mom for lunch and went home to SLEEP.

Hope this is useful to those who want to take medical tests in the future.

One of my biggest achievements in life is my hair. How i managed to let it grow to my current length without the urge to cut it. I used to get different hair cuts/styles every three months.

Last Thursday i went for a very needed trim and decided that i wanted something different. I have had long straight hair for 2 years, i wanted something different! i decided to get bangs.

I am having a love-hate relationship with it. I think it was a mistake to let my hair stylist "do whatever you want, i trust you" NEVER SAY THAT TO YOUR HAIR STYLIST. I am trying my best to make do with whatever i can and trying not to regret, because the decision was made by me.

This whole...layers and bangs is really not working out for me. :( Its okay, hair can grow.

Puzzles i love

Sunday, 27 January 2013

Last night after a friend's dinner, SB and i stopped by Coffea Coffee at Bangsar for a coffee date. Technically, it was just drinks cause he had lemon something and i had my usual green tea latte. I am on the search for the best green tea latte. So far, i like Starbucks's soy green tea latte. While we were settling down in our seats, watching people passing by...SB suggested we play a game, he took out a paper with some words on it...made me read it out loud, (he wrote me a letter) in the letter, he made a puzzle. At the end of the puzzle was a message i had to piece together.

THE MESSAGE WAS....A CAMERA! HE SURPRISED ME A CAMERA!! I have always wanted a camera for the longest time but put off it because i had other priorities. This has to be the most thoughtful gift anyone has given me.

Its a Panasonic LX5. Apparently, he listened and took notes whenever i mentioned what features i wanted in a camera. He also researched one of my fav Hong Kong bloggers to see what camera she uses because i mentioned i wanted one like hers. (<3 <3 <3)

Yay to my own personal camera and yay to quality pictures! :D

THANK YOU SO MUCH SAYANG! <3

Whats in your bag?

Monday, 21 January 2013

Most of the contents in my handbag are makeup. I try my best not to lug around many makeups, but i cant help it! Every day i wear a different colour lipstick and i would chuck it in my bag and forget about it and the cycle continues. At the end of the week, i have to turn my bag upside down to put back my makeup at their place.

My bobbi brown sheer finish pressed powder lives in my bag. This beautiful creation is perfect to blot my shine away. I have been trying to finish my Clinique chubby stick. i probably have less than 1cm left but...that last bit seems to last FOREVER. Dont you hate it when you want to finish off a product when that happens?

My NYX lip products. i really recommend the Nyx soft matte lip cream -  my favourite would be Antwerp. I like the fact they use cities to name their products. I have a fascination for cities and collecting them makes it a little more interesting for me.

Bye

Wednesday, 16 January 2013

I resigned from my job last Wednesday. It had to be one of my saddest day ever. I made wonderful friends and learn so much about e-commerce and how to run a production, i dont think i would be able to learn what i learn in the 10 months i was there. I didnt want to leave, but i had too :(

This may sound really nerdy, i miss using Excel!!! I dont know what it is, just typing out the formulas, creating a formula or fixing a formula. Coming from zero knowledge to be able to produce a formulated sheet feels pretty amazing!

Working at Zalora - it was almost my dream job. i always knew i wanted to be behind a production. i wanted to be the backbone of something amazing. Its always more satisfying to know that because of you, it happened. But not yet, this is just a start for me.

Judging from my desk, you might question if i actually do work. I have my Ipad - to collect money from my Simpsons Tapped Out, Nail polishes to paint by layers and dry as i do work and colourful pens to make my notes more interesting.

Lets get drunk tonight!

Monday, 14 January 2013

A couple weekends back, SB and i couldnt decide where we wanted to eat and we thought this is the best opportunity to try something new instead of going to our daily frequents. So we ventured into PJ old town (after getting lost, looking up GPRS and calling for directions) we went to BURGER LAB! Ive been dying to try it ever since ......i cant remember. Too many reviews about burger lab came up in the local food blogs, i had to try it!

We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday. The line crazy, it was until the next shop! It was torturous to wait because people were coming out with their burgers and they smelled heavenly. Sweet greasy and buttery. hhhmmmmmm.... I could see them biting into it, making it worse.

We lined up for about 30mintues to get our order. We both got the Hangover Burger with sharp cheddar set (including fries and drink) and portabello mushroom fries. In total our bill came up to rm68. I was quite taken back by the price but i thought i should at least try it before i say anything.

Random picture of my bright sky blue flats from H&M. At this point, i was getting restless and impatient because of the long line. A hungry Khaira is an unhappy Khaira! You can see SB's storm trooper key chain

SB surprised me with this shirt! Can you guess who is the girl on his shirt? :D He is starting a new tshirt line under the brand Regime, stay tune for that. So...after this picture, i stopped taking pictures because we were moving in the line and was about to order. I wanted to take a picture of the menu, but i was undecisive over what i wanted...and i had to order ASAP because people were waiting. In between of deciding what i wanted and trying to take the camera out....i was so overwhemled, that i didnt take a picture and quickly paid up and moved aside. /sigh. We took our burgers to go.

When we got home, i couldnt be arse to take out my camera again to take a picture because i was SO HUNGRY!!! SB didnt let me eat in the car, even one tiny fry! While SB was fixing up the tv, i dugged in my burger. OH MY GOD, it was orgasmic. Hangover Burger has hash brown, maple syrup in it and i requested for sharp cheddar. The patty melts in your mouth. It sweet and savoury. Writing this is making me hungry. I hope the picture helps give you an idea of how GOOD it is. Man, i cant wait to go back to Burger Lab. It was definitely worth the wait, one hour including waiting for the burgers and definitely worth the rm68!

Here comes boom!

Monday, 7 January 2013

This year is the 2013 of healthy eating and yoga! Yes, my new year resolutions are...to start yoga again and start a green smoothie diet! its the 6th day in the new year and......i havent started on any yet! but i am positive! i will get it done!

SB and i had fish and chips at Manhattan Fish Market. We shared a bowl of fried mushrooms. i love fried mushroom! The crispy batter outside and soft chewy mushroom inside. YUMS. i should try and make some on my own. A better, somewhat healthier option than Popeye. SB was craving for their fried chickens and biscuits. I was relieved.

The picture was taken after i done eating and waiting for SB to finish his. He has a system on eating things with fries. He will eat ALL his fries first then start on his burger and in this case, his fish. While i like to eat my fries as i eat my burger/fish. Fries fill me up and i am dumbfounded at how SB can still eat his meal after.

It was definitely a good night because we caught Here comes boom and i thought it was quite a funny movie.

I was never into printed pants until my mom went to Perth and got herself an ethnic multicoloured pallazo pants from Supre. Yes, i did, i took it from her... Ever since that day, it was my go-to pants. I wear it on days i dont feel like putting effort BUT looked like i put an effort!

One slow day at work, my friend wanted to go to Kitschen to check out the sale. We have Kitschen, Nichii and Dressing Paula at our office centre. She mentioned the tapered pants she bought were cheap and she wanted to get some for her mom. I decided ok, lets go see!

We went back to the office smiling broadly! Cant wait to wear them out!

i dont know how to change the date.
