Zalora's BIGGEST SALE is Near! 12 12 Online Fever

Tuesday, 8 December 2015

I spent many years experimenting and I think I found my own personal style, which are stripes, neutrals (mostly black) and floral prints. I didn't realise that I was always buying floral, stripes and neutrals until Don pointed it out. If you are a follower on my Instagram and seen most of the outfits I wear. They're pretty much all from Zalora. I have been a fan of their website since Day 1. I am constantly on their website checking out the latest arrival and finding the best deals. Whenever I need to take a break from work or to do thinking about things for a few minutes. I would scroll through their website. I have a Zalora tab permanently opened. Every day I add something to my wishlist. Currently, my wishlist has over 50 things (No shame!)

Wearing White Jeans

How to wear white jeans

I toyed with the idea of getting white jeans for the longest time. White pants are very intimidating (to me, at least). You have to have a certain level of discipline and the love for fashion to don white jeans. My fashion style is comfortable and practical (which can equal to basic) but wearing white jeans gives me a sense of sophistication and chic. I stayed off white jeans for the obvious reasons...

#1 - White jeans = disaster in the making. I am a clumsy klutz. I spill everything! I unconsciously wipe things on my jeans.
#2 - I have child bearing hips. I have hips that don't lie. A big booty. White shows them off even more.

It only took a simple question from my girlfriend.

Hey babe, which one do you think looks better on me?
*sends two photos of sunnies*
This one. What sunnies are these? They're gorgeous!!

Top: H&M
Pants: Uniqlo
Bag: Anya Hindmarch
Shoes: French Sole

Wore this for a quick dinner at Boat Noodle a few weeks back. I should have worn a dress to this dinner because i ate SO much and was SO bloated! I looked like i was 6 months pregnant! In total i had 8 bowls of the beef noodles. It was more than my tummy could handle. Next time, ill stop at 5 bowls.

I have had this bag since the first day of my degree in Shah Alam. I picked this because... it had a university theme to it and i was going to use it for Uni. Seriously, how cute it is! "The politics of Fashion" "Fashion Philosophy" Ive had this bag for 4 years and it is still good as new. It has been places! Its durable and you can basically chuck EVERYTHING in this bag. Yup, i had 4 (heavy) cameras in this bag at the time of the picture including my iPad. I am pretty bummed that Anya Hindmarch stopped doing their canvas bags :(

Me acting cool to people staring at me
I am trying to slowly be natural in front of the camera. I am such an awkward turtle!! Especially when i take OOTDs shots in public, goodness, people STARE at you! While i was taking these shots, the hall way of One World Hotel was empty and out of the blue... a group of people walked in and Khaira turns into an awkward turtle. Please dont look at me >.<

Top: Ally
Boyfriend Jeans: Target
Necklace: Diva
Shoes: Clarks
Handbag: Vintage Coach
How i would describe my style would be minimalist and comfortable. Jeans are my least favourite pair of pants because i can never find one that fits right. I only started wearing jeans this year and even more during winter in Perth. I wanted to document this OOTD for three reasons;

#1 - I have been wearing these boyfriend jeans almost every day this week, big achievement for me.
#2 - I am wearing a crop top! I don't like showing my midriff because my tummy is not the flattest! It took me the longest time to be comfortable in a bikini and now with a little help from Yoga, Futsal and just watching what i eat, i feel a little more confident. *high 5 to self*
#3 - I am wearing wedges, i avoided wearing height to go out because the guy i used to date was just a few inches taller than me and i dont think it is romantic to be taller than your boyfriend (LOL). My next mission is to invest in timeless heels and not care if I'm too tall.

i kept looking at the left because there was a bunch of people looking at me looking at them, HAHA!

Je parle un peu francaise

Circle / Bon Anniversaire ma cheri <3
We had a lovely dinner at La Vie en Rose, a french restaurant in KL to celebrate Laila's birthday. We went after breaking fast to avoid the traffic jam coming in KL. No one was at home to break fast with me, all i had was a drink and banana bread, by the time we got to the restaurant, i was starving!!!! And i am clueless with french food, Je ne sais pas la cuisine francaise! i told Dahlia i would order whatever she ordered, we both had Lamb Tajine (which isnt french, more like Moroccan). I swear the Banana Leaf girl in me is too strong. Nasi and Curry any day! This dinner was the perfect end to my one week back in KL. Im loving the twin towers behind our group picture!

Top: Temt
Skirt: Target
Belt: Nash's
Shoes: Zara
Bag: Chanel
My favourite piece from my outfit is my skirt! Better picture here. This skirt was an impulse buy from Target! I saw it on the rack, picked out my size and went to pay without even thinking of how i was going to style it or why i wanted it. It worked out for me because i love the cutting and will definitely be featuring it more on this blog.

Boyfriend Jeans: Sports girl
Shoes: Birkenstock

Goodness, what a welcome home. I forget how hectic KL is! So lovely meeting up with the girls and just catch up over things in person. I met up with them at a burger joint in Hartamas called Buns. There are so many new cafes popping up every where! The coffee culture and boutique restaurants are coming up here in KL. I am pretty excited to check them out! The minute I got home, i dumped my suitcases and went straight to do my hair and pedicure spa. I had some time to kill while waiting for my mom to run a few errands and i somehow ended up in a Birkenstock store and...walked out with a pair of slippers. I need to get a job ASAP.

Stripes and Hibiscus

Monday, 9 June 2014

Had a very eventful Saturday that lead to an uneventful Sunday. Somewhat a balanced weekend! I am starting to live for weekends. i used to take my weekends for granted because it felt like any other day. Hanging out with Don has made me appreciate the weekends more and its reminding me that my "reality" of 9-5 job is coming soon. *sad face* Weekends are going to be precious.

Sunday morning, we took Don's dog for a walk around the block of his house and Khaira, being easily amused (also i think i was missing my dad who has a green thumb) we basically stopped at every flower and herb plant, we walked by. I like flowers and plants but i don't like the gardening bit. i tried, Dad bought me a Bonsai plant that you only need to water once a week and it died. We were walking along the path and i saw pink hibiscuses. In true Khaira form, i squealed in excitement and pointed out to Don that the Bunga Raya is Malaysia's national flower. He whipped out his phone and took pictures of in the midst of me squealing. You only start appreciating your home when you are far from it.

Outfit:
Dress: Sports girl
Watch: Rip Curl
Glasses: Moscot

I love these shots because you can see my tangled messy curls, my highlights and my ombre! i have come to a realisation that my wardrobe is slowly filling up with stripes.

Funny smile because i was caught off guard to Don taking pictures. I was really happy with my winged liner that morning, considering i had only 20 minutes to get ready! I am acing at winged liner that felt like forever to master.

Below is my FOTD:

Left to Right: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hours blush in Rouge, Naked Basics by Urban Decay, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium Moyen 25, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Caramel, Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in black, Nivea Lip Care Pure & Natural Milk & Honey, Mac in Bad Girl RiRi.

Loving the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for my under eyes! it definitely brightens my dark circles, but it wears off after a few hours BUT does not settle in my fine lines. YAY! This is where my YSL Touche Eclat comes in for mid-day touch ups. Such a waste to stop using it, but perfect for touch ups.

Uniform

Thursday, 15 May 2014

For the longest time, once a upon time, i lived in pants and oversized shirts. It was comfortable and decent. Until i realised that i was looking like a dude... This denim shirt is my favourite shirt of all time. I have only worn it less than 5 times. Lol. its so precious that i hardly wear it but really i hate ironing it! I send it to dry cleaning to get it washed. Thats why its so precious! I wanted a denim polo shirt and when i went to the shop to get it, they didnt have my size in the women. So i got it in Men!!

Top: Ralph Lauren
Leggings: Supre
Shoes: Converse
Bag: Fjallraven Kanken
Sunglasses: Rayban

Another uniform of mine are my sunglasses. I love Rayban's aviators that i have 3 pairs and i want more! i really shouldn't but... hehehe. I think my side braid is becoming a uniform until i decide what i want do with my hair.

Pancakes, oh my!

Freemantle or Freo is my second favourite place in Perth. i love the weekend markets, filled with food, life and culture. Some times too much buzz that it gets overwhelming! We only walked around the market once (too many people!!!), got a veggie roll and a sushi roll each and walked out from the market. PP (now known as SB) wanted to explore Freo more and check out the hidden lanes. We skipped the whole shopping part of freo and walked along the Notre Dame Uni buildings. We found this quaint office with beautiful door. i love the old rustic look of it and of course, we had to take my OOTD shots there.

Top: Asos
Cardigan: Asos
Jeans: H&M
Flats: French sole
Bag: Valleygirl
Sunglasses: Raybans

I went on a Asos binge a week ago and bought more than i should. i am sucker for Asos deals! I love the fact that i can get 6 items for less than 150 dollars, thats more than i can get at any other shops. i have a secret to tell, most of the items i bought were from the maternity line. I just buy them 2 sizes smaller and no one knows unless i mention it. Hehe!

Since we started our day early and needed our coffe fix and taaadaahhh! We found a cafe at the end of the road. I love finding cafes hidden in a corner, i got a flat white. I have to say it was perfect, my coffee was just nice. i hate it when some cafes overheat the milk. It makes it so unpleasant to drink.

We went all tourist and got on the Ferris wheel. Its my second time on the Ferris wheel and i still dont like heights. SB made me switch places so he can take a picture of me with a view. NOPE, i couldnt do it. Moving capsule at the highest peak. NOPE!

Me fooling around being all mysterious and Star Wars-ish because it was May the 4th. So lame!!

We ended our trip in Freo by visiting my favourite shop in Freemantle, The chart and map shop. My dream is to get a wall sized map in my future home, where i can just stare at it all day, everyday!

We stopped by Coles on the way back, so SB can buy snacks to bring back home. They amount of junk food he bought...was against everything i believed in. I avoided the chips and chocolate aisle for the longest time and walking through was HARD. I wanted everything!!!! i was having a mental fight with myself and had to just get out from the aisle and wait for SB at the end of it.

We ended the day with pancakes! The whole day when we were in Freo, we kept seeing people eating pancakes and it made me crave for it. I decided to just screw my no sugar diet and go for pancakes. Now because my body has had sugar after a long time, it wants chocolates, especially tim tams dipped in milk, rum and raisin ice cream from gelare, coffee with sugar and the list goes on.
Here is a funny incident with my housemate, Mike, he knows i have been off the wagon the past few days, i scroffed down a few tim tams infront of him... (fyi, i am known for the healthy one in the house)

i walked out to the kitchen, took a spoon from the dishrack, went to the freezer, took out my ice-cream and scooped a spoonful,

...just as i was about to put the spoon in my mouth. Mike comes up to me, pulls up his hand out infront of my face and says "NO!". Yep, that did it for me, i dropped the spoon and it was picked up happily by my other housemate. i went back to my room, sad but grateful. at least i wont have him teasing me "onom nom nom nom" with cookie monster gestures whenever i eat sweets.

The perfect day

Jumper: H&M

Skirt: Cotton On

Flats: Sacoor Brothers

Sunglasses: Ray Bans

My personal photographer (PP) was in town over the weekend and we had the best weekend. i am not exaggerating when i say we trully experience Perth for what it has to offer because of that it was the best weekend. We woke up early and headed off to the city for a quick brunch. We were spoilt for choice and couldnt decide where to eat. We pretty much walked around aimlessly looking for cafes that offer brunch and decided to just go get burgers! Nothing can go wrong with burgers and onion rings. Sadly, i dont have any pictures our burgers.

Waiting for our burgers.

After lunch, we decided to go to check out the Apple store. I have walked along William st many times over the years i have been in Perth. That day was the first time i looked up further than Aviary and saw the 140 William st building. Wow, the architecture of building is stunning! I was happy i looked up, its amazing what you discover by just looking.

After a few strolls in the city mall, we decided to go to Harbour Town! Cheap shopping? yay! We decided to walk to Harbour Town!!!!! It wasnt too far but it got me excited because PP was like, no, we are not taking the bus, we are walking to burn off the burgers we had! im so weird. Its nice to have a fitness buddy to keep you in check!

We had many pitstops along the way. Like me re-applying my lipstick, PP was shaking his head when i passed the tinted window and took my lipstick. Hey, when we have to re-apply our lipstick, anywhere with a reflective surface does!

Me scowling at PP for making me stop halfway to take my picture. As usual, whenever i tell PP that i am not shopping, its always me that ends up shopping! The first shop i went in, i bought a dress and a top. i swear, i fail at will power. We went into Cotton On, i was looking through the knickers and thought, okay, its 2 dollars each, thats pretty cheap! i am going to get some, while digging through the boxes of knickers, i stopped myself and said out loud - "why am i shopping?! im not supposed to buy anymore things!" The lady next to me looked at me and dropped her whatever she was holding and started laughing saying "yeah! im not supposed to shop too!" Now i kinda regret that decision because 2aud underwear is a pretty good deal!

Right after Habour Town, we went over to King's Park. My favourite place in Perth. I dont care if its full of tourist or overrated. King's Park is beautiful! I have been there so many times and everytime i fall in love with it even more. Again i say, screw fancy restaurants, bring me to King's park and have a decent coversation with me + snacks = WIN. Thats what PP and i did, we sat down on the grass and had one of the best conversation ever. We touched everything from life, personal growth, relationships and food.

Below is a video to show what a beautiful day it was, it was abit chilly but nonetheless it was beautiful. Its also just a video of me fooling around with the selfie pole PP got me. i swear, its one of the best gifts anyone has given me!

Nike Tech Pack Poncho

Monday, 24 March 2014

This week was a rather stressful and eventful for me. My supervisor basically told me in a very nice way that i should get my act together and start focusing on my thesis, as she went into details on how i should plan my day to write and i went into depression mode. I was overwhelmed as it is with the first step that after meeting my supervisor, i wanted to just go home and sleep. Is that what depress people do? sleep? But i didn't, i was a sport and went to meet up with my classmate. I felt much better that my fellow classmates were also struggling with their first step, but the feeling still lingered.

To make myself feel better, i went for a little (and expensive) retail therapy. I have been wanting to get the Nike Tech Pack sweater since it came out last year October but just held back because winter was over, KL is freaking hot and i don't need another sweater.

I wanted this beautiful cape sweater. I regret not buying it. I went into Nike in the city and voila~ the Tech Pack line had a new 2014 collection. Again, i was contemplating to get one. I love everything about the line, but it was still not practical for me to get because...i have too many jumpers, sweaters, coats and jackets for my last winter in Perth.

As i was walking out, i noticed the sales girl was holding on to a different sweater, i asked her if i could see it, it was a poncho and it was love at first sight. ok, it was love at second sight. SB had sent me a picture of the poncho when he was in Jakarta but i brushed it off because it was too expensive and again i didn't need any more warm gears.

But seeing it in person and it touching it and being able to actually try it on. I fell in love. I wanted it and it was the last piece in my size!!!!!!!!

I succumbed and got it. I can't wait for the weather to cool down so i can wear it out! Sorry for the bad picture, no effort went into making the picture pretty, i was too excited and (really) guilty for spending money i don't have. i feel good and that's all that matters.

Sunday, 6 January 2013

I was never into printed pants until my mom went to Perth and got herself an ethnic multicoloured pallazo pants from Supre. Yes, i did, i took it from her... Ever since that day, it was my go-to pants. I wear it on days i dont feel like putting effort BUT looked like i put an effort!

One slow day at work, my friend wanted to go to Kitschen to check out the sale. We have Kitschen, Nichii and Dressing Paula at our office centre. She mentioned the tapered pants she bought were cheap and she wanted to get some for her mom. I decided ok, lets go see!

We went back to the office smiling broadly! Cant wait to wear them out!
