July Goals

Wednesday, 17 June 2015

01. Work on my LDR/Beauty E-book.
Somewhere along the past couple of months, Don managed me convince me to write an E-book. Writing an E-book has always been part of Blushingkay’s plans (when I have more time to myself). I did some research on E-books, E-book designs, gathered up my content and gave myself a one-month deadline. Halfway through writing, organizing my content. I realized it was A LOT more work. There are so many E-book templates that i can easily plonk my content in. But I want to do this myself from scratch! So, yes, the goal is now to finish up the E-book. If you’re interested in LDR or Beauty E-book, send me a comment of your email below and i will send it to you once it’s done!

5 Motivational Quotes That Help Me Through My Long-Distance Relationship

Tuesday, 14 April 2015

When Don and I first started our long distance relationship, it was hard. I needed something more than just our words to get me through the time until we see each other next. I did what other long distance couples do, I went to Mr. Google and searched motivational quotes for long distance couples.  After reading through the 100 quotes for long distance couples, I didn't like any! Sure, there were a few that got to me. But, I felt like the quotes were so pretentious. It didn't click with what I was feeling at the moment. I told myself that I should just let it come to me. And it did! Over time, things happen and we get through them and boom - a motivational saying comes out from that.

Below are my 5 motivational quotes that help me through my long distance relationship...

6 Cool Advantages of Being in a Long Distance Relationship

Saturday, 28 March 2015

Don and I met when we were doing our Master degree in Curtin University, Perth. At the time, we got to know each other as “classmates”. I was in a long-term relationship and he was pursuing another classmate of ours.

Towards the end of my last semester, we found ourselves single and decided to give Don+Kay a try. Of course, there was a catch, in 4 weeks time, he was heading off for a 7-week road trip across America and I was heading back to Kuala Lumpur, my hometown. We didn’t know when we would be in the same country next, but you can’t stop loving someone just because they’re not in the same country. We decided to make the distance work.

I often talk about how sucky it is to be in a long distance relationship. In light of keeping things optimistic and looking at the silver lining in my long distance relationship, I found a few things that have made me a better person because of my long distance relationship.

Blue for Miles in Bunker Bay

Saturday, 14 March 2015

After the wedding, we had the day to ourselves and Don wanted to show me around his family's friend place. Their place is on top of a hill over-looking the gorgeous Bunker Bay. Seriously...it was blue for miles!

One of my housemates when I was in Perth is from Dunsborough. Her boyfriend lives in Dunsborough and she would drive down and up every other weekend to see him. Being a slight feminist, I asked her a few times, why can't he come up to Perth for a change. After seeing the town and the beach, I can totally understand why he doesn't want to come up to the City and why she was willing to drive down.

One of our activities we do together is talking long walks. Super cliche, but we like talking long walks by the beach. Mind you, I was nursing a really bad hangover. So I was a little cranky, but with a view like this... It can cure anything!

#TeamDunco Wedding at Wise Winery Eagle Bay, Dunsborough

Monday, 9 March 2015

Remember when I was ranting about not getting the dress I wanted to wear for Don's brother's wedding. Well, well, well... this girl waited and waited and waited and the dress came online!! It only came in XL, two sizes too big. *sad face* It was such a beautiful dress to give up. I told myself, fuck it. I'm getting it! So I bought it, got it altered and I was good to go. But alteration took longer than usual and I only got my dress a day before i was leaving to Perth! Stress...

I was in Perth again for Don's friend's wedding and to see my baby, of course! The wedding was at the beautiful Wise Winery Eagle Bay in Dunsborough, 3 hours down south from Perth. Beautiful town! Beach. People. I love western weddings. It's simple, quick, no protocols, no awkward speeches from the emcee and fun! I had so much fun that night that I needed Don to help me back to the room. Hehehe... >.<

Natural Spring

Sunday, 8 February 2015

One of the reasons why I was in Perth in December was to attend Don's brother's wedding. The wedding was like a scene in the movies, it was PERFECT. Great weather, simple yet elegant, everything ran smoothly and timely and sigh, it was so wonderful. This might be a benchmark wedding for me.

Leading up to the day i was leaving for Perth, i was busy with work. I had deadlines to meet before leaving and at the same time, had to run errands, buy a dress, and pack! I only managed to pack the night before my flight! (I left a few things behind cause of that). Getting my dress was quite a challenge. Pei Yee showed me this gorgeous dress on Doublewoot. I was dead set on getting it, but when i wanted to check out, my size was sold out (!!!!!!!!!!). OMG..now i had to go out and look for a dress #firstworldproblems. Not having a dress, set me back big time  and made me a little panicking.

I was super duper lucky, the same week I was leaving. My office had to shut due to some power problems in the building. We had to work from home, haha in between "work" i snuck away to Paradigm Mall and managed to find the dress below. I was in and out from the mall under 1 hour. Shopping under pressure = greatest finds.

My dress was from H&M.

HAPPY 2015!

Sunday, 4 January 2015

So, a day before i left for Perth, my company had our Christmas dinner.  <jumping off topic>  One of my directors' mom made the softest, mashiest and most delicious mash potato EVER. It was so good, i kept thinking about every day right up to Christmas - hoping that Don's family would have mash potato on the menu, sadly, no mash potato :( Okayyy... </end topic>. During the dinner, the directors announced that... they were going to close the office on the 26th of December and 2nd January!!!! Giving us... 2 weeks of 5 days weekend!!! What a way to end the year and start the new year.

Celebarated the new year with my forever gedik girls. This by far has been my tamest and most laid back new year celebration. Quiet dinner with the bunch - we had dinner at 9pm, everyone was hungry, no conversations, just eating.

Cheers to 2015!

Camera: Fisheye Film: Lomo Color 400 ISO
Tried writing my new year resolution and it turned out to be a bore. I want to achieve so many unrealistic things this year that i decided, blah forget it. Just do whatever makes you happy and dont break the law. You guys must be sick, i talk about Don all the time, but oh well, he is my biggest inspiration. #sorrynotsorry #angau I told him I was writing my new year resolution, failing badly. And he suggested i write good habits i want to pick up in 2015. I never thought of that, see what i mean - Don = biggest inspiration!
