5 Apps to help with Your LDR

Friday, 22 May 2015

I love my iPhone. My phone is the saviour to my long distance relationship and the organization of my life! I am a little tech nerd. It's pretty scary but i am very reliant on my smart phone that I can go a day without it. I’ll be a headless chicken without it. Below are some of the few apps I use daily to organize my life and just additional apps to make my LDR easier.

I use Whatsapp every day to connect with people. It’s free, fuss free and so easy to use. Don and I send photos, text messages and videos to each other through Whatsapp. We tried using other “LDR apps” but we always went to Whatsapp to communicate. Now, there is a new feature where you can call people through Whatsapp! If something is too long to text, it’s literally a click away from a phone call (instead of pressing home button, search for the number and press call).

Long distance relationships are expensive. Even more expensive if it’s an international one and your partner’s currency is 3 times more than your currency. Dollarbird is an expense tracker. It helps me track my spendings and how much I am saving. I am not very good with numbers so this app helps me calculate how much balance I have after keying the amount of $$$ I spend a day.

Dreamdays is a countdown app. I have downloaded many countdown apps, but none as easy, minimal looking and pretty as Dreamdays. You can export your countdown to your google calendar in case you forget your trip to see your partner. I hardly doubt that will happen!

Whenever I have a few minutes to spare, I will go on the AirAsia app to check out airline tickets to Perth or any other destinations I plan to go in the near future. Doing this, I can have a rough estimation how much it will cost and can easily plan our trips! AirAsia has this cool feature that you can book flight + hotel together for one price! You don’t have to worry about looking for a place to stay and calculating that in your budget.

This is a to-do list app. You can separate your ‘lists’ into different categories. You can have one for shopping, work, groceries, etc! I have a few lists for work, blushingkay, Things i need to bring to Perth, Things Don needs to do and such. Best part about it, you can share your ‘To Do List’ with whoever! Don and I share a to-do list for things we have to do. Its has this annoying reminder every morning that makes you feel guilty when you don’t tick anything off for days.
