I wanted to get the perfect ombre/balayage hair without spending too much money on it. Being a broke student and needed something to fill up my very free time, i did it all on my own. I used the Loreal Wild Ombre Kit in No. 2 to achieve this look. A few weeks later, i did it the second time and third time because i was still unsatisfied with the outcome. After my third time, my hair was broomstick dry and it needed treatment or cut it off. It was then, i thought, okay, it's time to let the professional do their job. I went to a salon nearby and asked for a trim, more highlights and got this.
Let's just say...dry hair = tangled mess. I did the next best thing a girl with super dry, tangled hair. I chopped it off! I never felt better! I thought i would regret my decision, but it was the BEST decision I've ever made. That was a year ago, my journey with ombre/balayage hair.
A couple months back, i went to my stylist and told her I wanted to go ashy blonde at my ends. I am assuming we didn't really communicate properly. I left the salon slightly displeased (Photo above). Fast forward two months later with Eid coming up. I wanted to do something for myself, to feel good. I still wanted my ashy blonde hair, so I went to Number76 in publika. I knew in order for me to get the colour i wanted i needed to bleach my hair again *cries*.
Sigh, my poor bleached hair.
The end result. I love it!
1. I don't wash my hair every day. I let the natural oils on my hair do its thing. Washing your hair, every day will strip off the natural shine and moisture.
2. This i had to learn the hard way. Don't wash your hair with hot water. Like washing your hair every day, hot water dries up your scalp. Instead, wash with cold water. Cold water makes your hair shinier and saves you from frizz. Also, cold water helps with closing your cuticles after your hair is washed.
3. Deep mask twice a week. The deep mask helps with repairing the damage and soften the ends. I usually do this every Friday and Wednesday. I set days so I know i am going to take a little longer in the shower and make sure i follow through, cause sometimes, deep masking can be so boring when you have to sit and wait for it to work.
4. On days when I don't deep mask and shampoo my hair, i use either macadamia oil or argan oil on towel dried hair for more treatment. It just an added layer of protection for my hair from the UV rays, pollution and humid country i live in.
5. This is a tough one. Try not to use heat for a while. My hair dries with heat and goes POOF when it's humid or dry. On bad days, I tame it down by straightening it or blow dry straight. I usually try not to use heat for a month after a bleach job. If i do, i protect my hair with the heat protector.
