Okay, I will admit that the title of my playlist is not the most creative. But hey, it works. I have a certain genre of music i *love* that most of my colleagues can tell if a certain song or album is playing - "oh, this must be Khaira's playlist". Of course, when you get into a relationship, your influence of music will start to change as well. Don is a HUGE music fan and movie fan. If i ever need new music to listen to, he is my go-to person. I don't know how he does it, but he always has new music to listen to. While me, if i have an artist or an album i *love* (i usually do things on the extreme) i will listen to them for weeks. I would play them on my office's sonos and make everyone *love* them as well!
This story goes back to February -Valentine's day. It was our first Valentine's day as a couple, but sadly we were not together. I felt bad that i didn't plan anything for our first Valentine's day. I mentioned this to Don and he said, Don't worry about it. We are going to see each other in a few days. You're my valentine's gift.
I decided to make a Spotify playlist for him! Sharing songs that I think represents our love and songs that remind me of him. The idea came to me when I was showering. I am one of those who can sit under the shower until my fingers prune up. To save water bills and not dry up my skin, i listen to music while i shower.
Normal shower = 2 songs.
Shampoo hair = 3 songs.
Spa shower (exoliating/shampoo/hairmask) = 5 songs.
While showering, i was thinking to myself that i need new shower music and ting ting ting = Valentine's day playlist for Don! He was pretty chuffed with it and returned the gesture with a playlist for me. Of course, him being the music god, his playlist was much better than mine!
Below is a mixed of both our playlist for each other. I won't go into much detail about the meaning of the songs. A few of my favorites are
1. Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
2. Can't do without you - Caribou
3. I will follow you into the dark - Death Cap for the Cutie.
4. Love on Top = Beyonce
EDIT: I'm having trouble with the Spotify playlist RSS feed. I decided to put my Long Distance Playlist on Youtube!
