Hari Raya guys!

Hari Raya (or Eid) is coming soon in a few days time, which marks the end of Ramadan (the fasting month). This year is a little special because Don will be with me (that's one of the reasons why he is visiting me). It'll be a month of seeing old friends, visiting families and lots of eating.

The traditions during the first day of Hari Raya are, families would go to the mosque to pray. After that, we would go home, get ready and start the 'Seeking forgiveness' from our elders and give out 'Duit Raya' (*Raya money in money pockets) to family members who are not working. Then, we would get ready again to go out visit relative houses. It's basically family gathering and eating lots of good food. Rendang, Ketupat, Satay, Laksa, Cakes, Cookies... you name it. 

The photos above were taken last year. Every year, the group of cousins get smaller and smaller because everyone got married, had kids or have to visit the in-laws. Last year, it was the 4 of us and this year it will be the 3 of us because the cousin on my right will be getting married in August! The bright side of this, when we have family gatherings or Hari Raya Open Houses it will be so festive! Our family is growing and growing.
