12 Beauty Tips I Wish I Knew Sooner (Not Years Later)

Thursday, 3 December 2015

I am a long time beauty lover. There are some things where I learned from friends and family, some I learn from the internet and some I picked up myself. The things I learned by trial and errors are some of the things I wished I knew sooner. These are some of the things where it's the smallest changes that make a significant difference. Don't you hate that? I am super grateful for the tips I found over the years and here I am sharing it with you.

1. Dry shampoo is supposed to set on your hair for a while before brush it off. After 2 years of using dry shampoo daily.
2. A little goes a long way - Be it foundation, blusher, hairspray, glitter (ESPECIALLY GLITTER) and etc.
3. Invest in skincare rather than makeup. That naked palette 1,2,3 is not going to give you good skin.
4. Two shades lighter when it comes to your eyebrows.
5. Don't over pluck your eyebrows (in my case, don't over thread your eyebrows) Growing them back is a pain.
6. Use a primer before putting on your eyeshadow, especially if you're going to wear makeup the whole day.
7. Exfoliate before shaving.
8. Exfoliate your lips gently with a toothbrush before wearing dark colours (had to learn this the hard way).
9. Rain or shine: wear sunscreen.
10. Picking your nail polish will thin out your nails.
11. Eye cream goes on first then moisturiser.
12. Wash your face after you shower (after shampoo, soaping your body and shaving) so that you wash off all the residue left over from the shampoo and body soap off your face).

What are beauty tips you wish you knew sooner?
