| Running around the foreshore! |
Here are some things I have been doing:
- Stopped drinking soda and switched to water and lemon
- Avoiding anything sweet except for the occasional cake and dessert treats
- Eating more fruits. I make it a point to have at least one fruit a day. Banana or an apple.
- Drinking apple cider vinegar every morning before I leave my house for work.
- Stop buying junk food. Out of sight, out of mind.
- Eat green vegetables for every meal. If my meal doesn't come with greens, I'll order a side of broccoli or salad.
- Drink 800ml of water x 2. I have an 800ml bottle that helps me keep track of how much I drink every day.
- Working out, of course. Go for yoga, play futsal and just move around, a lot.
- Walk. This is by far the easier thing to help to keep fit. I like to park further away from the entrance when I am at a mall, just so I walk more.
- Get enough rest. Another habit I picked up from Don. Don is big on getting a good night's rest. He doesn't fight his tiredness like me. If he is tired, he will listen to his body and rest.
- Cutting down on refined carbs. I love my carbs. My rice. My bread. My pasta. This is really hard and I am still struggling with cutting carbs out from my diet.
- Using a fitness band. Using my fitness band has helped me keep myself on track and push me to walk or be active when I don't hit my daily target.
- Take supplements and multivitamins.
- Drink fruit infused and herbal teas to help with digestion.
I don't believe in diets, instead I believe in healthy balanced meals and the occasional naughty cheat days. I hope my little tips help you motivate to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
What do you do to stay healthy both body and mind?
