Don is coming here in a few days and I am BEYOND excited. It's the first time, we are seeing each other in months and this is the longest we've ever been apart. Never again! It's going to be a food trip for him. Malaysia, a multicultural country is pretty known for its food because of the cultural influences. We have Malay, Chinese, Indian and a mixture of all three cultures! So, i have a full itinerary of breakfast, lunch, dinner for him. The last time he visited me, Donny boy here complained, saying that i didn't feed him enough. He is a big man with a huge appetite, i can't keep up with! I've been saving new restaurants, cafes here in KL to try with him. So excited!! We get to be a normal couple for a couple of weeks.

Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder
Thursday, 9 July 2015
Consider this post as motivation for great things to come! I resigned from a job i really disliked last week with no concrete plans. My old job did a number to my creativity and sense of wonder. I felt trapped and i am so glad i am out of it. The people i worked with were wonderful, but it was the job.
Find Joy In The Simplest Things
Sunday, 5 July 2015
Don and I have been together for over a year and currently going through our longest stint apart = 5 months. We promised each other that we will *try* to see each other every 3 months, but this time around we couldn't due to our jobs. When we said goodbye at the airport, I was dreading the flight home because i was going back to reality. It was back to having a relationship with my iPhone and iPad.
From there, I was on a roll to find things to distract myself. I mostly did sports related things. I've been playing futsal for years and developed friendships from there. It kept me sanely and going! But you know, when you have a good thing going on for too long, it can get a little repetitive and boring. I felt like I needed something else to look forward to (other than my daily Futsal nights) spark up my routine or life. Retail therapy helped but a temporary fix. Over time, i stopped trying to find "happiness" and let life take over. It's when you don't try, joy creeps up to you. Below are four little joys that keep me going in our LDR.
The Long Distance Playlist
Wednesday, 1 July 2015
Okay, I will admit that the title of my playlist is not the most creative. But hey, it works. I have a certain genre of music i *love* that most of my colleagues can tell if a certain song or album is playing - "oh, this must be Khaira's playlist". Of course, when you get into a relationship, your influence of music will start to change as well. Don is a HUGE music fan and movie fan. If i ever need new music to listen to, he is my go-to person. I don't know how he does it, but he always has new music to listen to. While me, if i have an artist or an album i *love* (i usually do things on the extreme) i will listen to them for weeks. I would play them on my office's sonos and make everyone *love* them as well!
