Nobody dyes their hair blonde during winter

Tuesday, 27 May 2014

After complaining tirelessly to Don (LOL, HAHA!) about how badly i needed a trim and fix my brassy ombre hair. i got my hair done! It was supposed to be just a trim but i thought, you know what, just go crazy and i added highlights to them! I am still getting used to seeing myself...blonde. i have had black/brown hair for 25 years and every time i look at myself in a passing mirror, i cringe. i feel like an asian trying to be white and Don teases me all the time about it :(

Here are three selfies for you to enjoy with my beautiful map and laundry in the background.

Nyx Buttergloss (Review + Swatches)

Friday, 23 May 2014

My love affair with NYX started in Jakarta, surprisingly. This was at the peak of my crazy make up obsession (2012?), i read so many good reviews on the NYX soft matte lip cream and i knew one of the department stores in Jakarta had them. So when mom and my sister went crazy over materials and textiles. I went crazy at the NYX counter and bought a whole bunch. Haha, i remembered every day during that trip, i wore different colour lipsticks.

When these babies came out, i knew i wanted them! I got them in a pack of three for RM45 at Sephora KL. They come in the typical doe-foot applicator as the soft matte lip cream. It has a sweet vanilla scent, almost like toffee, which i am not a big fan of. It gives a sheer finish with a slight shine and it is definitely buttery, that sometimes my lips feels awkward from too much moisture.

Top to Bottom: Creme Brulee, Meringue, Cherry Pie
My personal favourite is Cherry Pie. On my lazy days, i just swipe it on and i am good to go! I am not a fan of lip glosses or anything sticky on my lips, but i am convert with these babies. They are easy to wear and gives an effortless finish! The only thing i dont like about NYX product is the longevity. You will need to reapply it every hour or two.

L'oreal Ever Sleek Precious Oil Treatment

Tuesday, 20 May 2014

I love it when brands have french translation on their products "precieuse" "miracle" "prodigieuse" somehow it makes the product sexier. I am a big fan of hair oils especially now with my bleached-in-desperate-need-of-a-trim ends. I find that hair oils soak up much faster and repairs my hair better.

I was using the Macadamia Hair Oil for years until my stock ran out. :( and being a #brokestudent, i needed to find a cheaper alternative. Went to my favourite shop ever, Priceline <3 <3 and i found this L'oreal Ever Sleek Precious Oil Treatment. My hair is currently at its longest ever. I have super thick straight hair with dry ends. Because my hair is thick and heavy, my hair gets really flat at my crown. So i needed something that doesnt weight my hair even more and doesnt grease my roots. Washing my hair is starting to become a burden. #dryshampooFTW

I didnt have high expectations of it because i just needed a temporary fix and i am a huge believer in the Macadamia Hair Oil. I usually use hair oils on towel dried hair. Instructions at the back of the bottle says two pumps - when i pumped two pumps, i thought, okay, thats alot? my hair is going to be greasy. But to my surprise, its so lightweight and actually helped detangle my hair! Anything that helps detangle my hair is already a winner. I have been using this product for almost 3 weeks and the only thing i dont like about it is that, it weighs my hair down when i apply it on dry hair. It only works on wet/towel dried hair. As compared to the Macadamia Hair Oil, i find this oil a bit heavier.

Overall, this oil helps maintain my dry frizzy ends for a good few hours, makes my hair smooth, smells wonderful like...vanilla jam and its affordable! If you have broomstick ends like my hair, your hair will thank you.

Uniform

Thursday, 15 May 2014

For the longest time, once a upon time, i lived in pants and oversized shirts. It was comfortable and decent. Until i realised that i was looking like a dude... This denim shirt is my favourite shirt of all time. I have only worn it less than 5 times. Lol. its so precious that i hardly wear it but really i hate ironing it! I send it to dry cleaning to get it washed. Thats why its so precious! I wanted a denim polo shirt and when i went to the shop to get it, they didnt have my size in the women. So i got it in Men!!

Top: Ralph Lauren
Leggings: Supre
Shoes: Converse
Bag: Fjallraven Kanken
Sunglasses: Rayban

Another uniform of mine are my sunglasses. I love Rayban's aviators that i have 3 pairs and i want more! i really shouldn't but... hehehe. I think my side braid is becoming a uniform until i decide what i want do with my hair.
