Reality check girls, our beloved makeups have expiry dates! Being a make-up enthusiast, i would buy make up and often forget when i bought it. This leaves me to guess the expiry date and... it is never accurate! If you are not careful, using old make ups can cause irritation, dryness, break outs. That sucks big time.
My makeup housekeeping tips:
- Always replace your mascara after 6 months! It's so easy to get eye infections with expired mascara. I buy drugstore mascara because i replace them all the time. This is also why i hardly use mascaras because it can get a little expensive after a while.
- Makeup sponges should be replaced after a week of us. Some would wash and use it for another week. Again, i buy drugstore sponges because i go through them so fast. Also! Wash your brushes every two weeks to prevent bacteria build up.
- If your product starts to smell funky or changes colour. Yup, it's time to toss it in the bin. Bye bye.
- Take a Sharpie and write the date/month/year at the back of the product for easy reference.
