Reasons You Are Breaking Out There

Tuesday, 17 February 2015

It has taken me a long time to get to where I am now with my complexion. Hiding behind make-up for years to cover my blemishes, scars and imperfection have just prolonged my journey to clear skin. I could have gone on Roaccutane again, but after years on it, I decided to go the natural route. After countless research, visiting many alternative practices and being told that I need to lose weight (seriously, since when is it okay to tell someone that she needs to lose weight right in their face?!), i have hormone problems and I am not cleaning my face enough. It occurred to me that the location of where your acne pops out is linked to your diet and your internal organs.

I used to get acne on my forehead, cheeks, and chin. And thats like... the most obvious parts of your face. :( I need to change up my lifestyle, BIG TIME.

 1. Forehead
Breakout on your forehead is likely linked to lack of sleep, stress or consuming too much unhealthy food. To get rid of pimples on your forehead, you need at least 7-9 hours of sleep daily and go slow on the junk food. Pimples on your forehead can also be from your fringe. Sweat and bacteria build-up. Push your fringe away if you are breaking out. Do check if your hair products are causing irritation.

 2. Eyebrows
Too much intake of alcohol, dairy and sugar are the cause of pimples in between your brows. This area is linked to your liver, so it's ideal you cut out unhealthy food and do light exercises daily. Avoid midnight snacking and get more rest.

 3. Eyes
Anything around your eyes (acne/dark circles) is linked to dehydration. Drink up sister! Get at least 2litre of water in your system a day and don't kill me if your toilet trips have increased, hehe. Just make sure you get sufficient water in and stay hydrated always.

 4. Cheeks
If you are a smoker, this is the way your lungs are telling to stop smoking by popping up on your cheeks. And letting you know that your body is overheating. To avoid breakouts on your cheeks, stop smoking or stay away from smoky area/pollutions. Also, eat more cooling food to keep your body cool. Stuff like cucumber, coconut water & watermelons.

 5. Nose
Breakouts on your nose is a red light warning that you may need to check your blood pressure, and vitamin B levels. You should also cut back on bad fats = Fast food. Replace them with healthy fats like almonds, salmon, avocados. Get more fresh air!

 6. Sides of chin
Aha! Pimples on the side of your chin mean you are PMS-ing or going through a stressful phase in your life. If it not that, it's either you are getting your period OR you are already on your period. The cool thing about our body is that it tells us things we don't usually pay attention too. The breakouts on your cheeks depend on which ovary is ovulating for that month.

 7. Chin
Acne is linked to your stomach. Add in more greens, fruits and high fiber food in your diet. This will flush out the toxins in your body. Drinking green tea or any herbal tea can help with digestion. By changing your diet, it may help reduce the breakouts. Flush out those toxins!

 8. Neck/chest
Breakouts on your neck/chest mean you are sick or battling a sickness. Breakouts that area is a sign that your body is working overtime to fight the virus/bacteria away. Drink lots of water, rest and relax. Let your body heal.

 9. Ears
Pimples in the ears are linked to your kidney. Again, you need to cut back on caffeine and alcohol. Up the water, intake to stay hydrated. If it's still popping up, try a juice cleanse. Click here for some cool recipes.

It is pretty obvious that staying hydrated is very important to your skin and having bad diet contribute to those pesky pimples. Love your body and it will love you back.

    1. Pimples on the back could be from sweat, do make sure you scrub properly after a long day or after working out. :)
