Camera: LCA+ Film: Kodak 400

Chopped 4 years of my life. I have been thinking about cutting my hair for the longest time and finally decided to just cut it off. What do i have to lose? My ends were dry as a bone and it was becoming a hassle to maintain it. Hair will grow and nothing wrong with pampering yourself at the saloon. I admit, I was a little heartbroken when i saw my hair on the floor but i decided to look at it in a way - i finished school for good and i am starting fresh. Im moving on to the next step in my life with cute hair and a cute boy.

Sukin Skincare Range Review

Friday, 18 July 2014

Sukin is an organic all natural skincare brand from Australia. The best thing about them is that they are free from bad skin irritants like sulphates and parabens. It is suitable for all skin types and made most natural ingredients such as rose hip oil and aloe vera. It was towards my last stay in Perth, i started breaking out from stress from writing, bad eating habits and too much alcohol. I noticed my skin getting a bit dry and peeling.

I decided to try the Sukin Skincare range. I was really lucky because at that time, the brand was on sale and i got them at a really good price which i cant remember now (sorry guys!) but even before discount, Sukin doesnt break your bank. Each bottle at 125ml each cost AUD9.95.

I particularly LOVE the Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser. It washes off everything (make up, dirt, oil and etc) and it smells of orange! I love anything that smells of oranges. It definitely leaves my face cleaner and fresher. My bottle is half way through and i have to wait a few months before i got back to Perth to re-stock.

If you read my post about toners; you would know that the Hydrating Mist Toner is made for me! Its such a convenient little invention. I am not a big fan of putting toner on cotton pad and wiping it all over my face, just too much time. By far, this Hydrating Mist Toner is one the best toners i used. My skin acted up during winter in Perth, it was dry and itchy. I kept rubbing my face, it become red and irritated. The Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner really helped calm my face down and soothe my itchiness.

The Sukin Facial Moisturiser is the only one i have mixed feelings for. It worked really well for me when i was in Perth. The texture of the moisturiser is quite thick, almost lotion like. Using it here in KL was a hot mess. The moisturiser felt so heavy on my face that it become uncomfortable. I find myself half way through the night washing my face again and using my Kiels Midnight Recovery Oil. Ill save it for when my skin acts up. No doubt, if you have really dry and sensitive skin, this moisturiser will be great for you. The packaging annoys me a little...it comes in a pump bottle, where sometimes you might accidentally press out too much product. Whatever leftover product, i would rub it in at the back of my hands.

Three weeks into using this range, my skin improved tremendously. The spots cleared up and my overall complexion brighten up as well. I think it being an organic and all natural skincare definitely helped. It has definitely help calm, soothe and clear up my skin. If you are ever in Australia and have sensitive skin, i would recommend you pick this up!

Really lucky to have housemates from south of Western Australia this year. During the easter break, a few of us went down to Albany to visit Stephen! The 5 hours journey down south was pretty interesting with 7 people in the car with different taste in music. I had to listen to Linkin Park for a good one hour. Stephen took us to the beach, a whiskey distillery, the natural bridge and viewpoints. I fell in love with Albany. Albany is such a beautiful town, rich with history.

Nikon FM2 and NikonF90x

I spend a good amount of time and energy the past few days going through all my high school memorabilia. What do you do with your medals and trophies from when you were 13-14-15-16? Do you still keep them? I found my old high school diaries and goodness!! They were so cringeful! How was it possible that i was 'in-love' at 15 years old!! And reading letters my first boyfriend gave me was...horrible, only because we are friends now and to see him that way again was GROSS! I did a whole detox and threw them all out. Making way for new things and new memories :)

The one thing i noticed most when i was cleaning out my room was - i had so many (printed) photos (that i took over the years) all over my room. I never realised how much i was into photography. I wasn't really into like real photography where people take account in their lighting, iso and etc, but more into moments. All my photos were the typical Kodak moment. I don't know what happened along the way, i stopped taking photos.

But so glad i decided to get back into it and start shooting. In the midst of cleaning, i was also thinking about my getting next camera. I have been reading photo blog from Singapore, she is using a Nikon Fm-10. She takes awesome travel photos of ALL the places i want to visit in Asia. Cambodia, Krabi, Vietnam just to name a few. Such a wonderful camera, takes honest, grainy and sharp photos. Of course, i did my research and couldnt help but think... I have seen this camera before!

I found my dad and asked him...

Daddy, what happen to all your old slr camera?
Its in the top cupboard in my room
*runs to get it*

Lo and behold!

New found love: Nikon FM2

My dad has the Nikon FM2 . The moment i saw it in his camera bag, my eyes has hearts in them. <3 <3 <3 <3 Manual only semi pro SLR film camera! I didnt know he had this camera!! I love the thrill of trying to figure out ISOs to take certain pictures and making sure i have enough light. Its a pretty sturdy camera and can definitely be used as a paper weight but i wont of course! My dad still has film in the camera from god knows how many years ago, i am pretty keen on finishing the roll and seeing what my dad took years ago.

Nikon F90x

My dad still has the manual for this camera dated 2001, i was 11 years old! This is the camera i remember seeing him use and taking pictures of the family especially me. I spend a lot of my younger years with my dad following him traveling all over Asia. I can easily say before i was 12, i have been to all South East Asia countries - except Brunei, East Timor and the Philippines. Dad was based in Bangkok, Thailand for a few years and work always had him travelling. I have pictures of me on/with elephants/tigers/snakes/monkeys, running around temples, eating, running across fields and me sulking because i was either told off to stop running around or i was hot. Sadly, i was too young to appreciate all the travels, which is why i want to re visit these places again. When i opened the camera bag, a wave of nostalgia came over me... I was a lucky kid.

I am going to get films, batteries and start using these cameras out!
