Michel Mercier Detangler Brush Review

Sunday, 6 July 2014

I dont know what took me so long to get myself a detangling brush, but i am so glad i did! I got the Michel Mercier Detangler Brush! They cater to different types of hair - Normal, Fine and Thick hair. I got the blue one for thick hair. Read more about my hair type here.

Especially now with my bleached blonde highlights, tangles are inevitable. I have to sleep in braids or braided pigtails so i would wake up with an organised tangle. There are more time than i would like to admit where i am near tears in trying to battle my knots and tangles with my paddle brush. So, I was pretty excited to try it and boy, it worked. Getting this brush is on my best investment list. This brush works well with both wet and dry hair!

Its a plastic hollow brush with fine bristles. What I love most about it is the large handle, it makes it so easy to grip and brush through my tangles. It has to be one of the easiest hair tool i have, all you have to do its just brush! Whenever i brush through my hair, it doesn't feel like i am breaking my ends, like how it is with my paddle brush. It takes me less than 5 minutes to brush through. I would apply my Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment, after for some shine and moisture. You have no idea how i love running my fingers through my hair after! I am constantly touching it!

Me acting cool to people staring at me
I am trying to slowly be natural in front of the camera. I am such an awkward turtle!! Especially when i take OOTDs shots in public, goodness, people STARE at you! While i was taking these shots, the hall way of One World Hotel was empty and out of the blue... a group of people walked in and Khaira turns into an awkward turtle. Please dont look at me >.<

Boyfriend Jeans: Target
Necklace: Diva
Shoes: Clarks
Handbag: Vintage Coach
How i would describe my style would be minimalist and comfortable. Jeans are my least favourite pair of pants because i can never find one that fits right. I only started wearing jeans this year and even more during winter in Perth. I wanted to document this OOTD for three reasons;

#1 - I have been wearing these boyfriend jeans almost every day this week, big achievement for me.
#2 - I am wearing a crop top! I don't like showing my midriff because my tummy is not the flattest! It took me the longest time to be comfortable in a bikini and now with a little help from Yoga, Futsal and just watching what i eat, i feel a little more confident. *high 5 to self*
#3 - I am wearing wedges, i avoided wearing height to go out because the guy i used to date was just a few inches taller than me and i dont think it is romantic to be taller than your boyfriend (LOL). My next mission is to invest in timeless heels and not care if I'm too tall.

i kept looking at the left because there was a bunch of people looking at me looking at them, HAHA!

Circle / Bon Anniversaire ma cheri <3
We had a lovely dinner at La Vie en Rose, a french restaurant in KL to celebrate Laila's birthday. We went after breaking fast to avoid the traffic jam coming in KL. No one was at home to break fast with me, all i had was a drink and banana bread, by the time we got to the restaurant, i was starving!!!! And i am clueless with french food, Je ne sais pas la cuisine francaise! i told Dahlia i would order whatever she ordered, we both had Lamb Tajine (which isnt french, more like Moroccan). I swear the Banana Leaf girl in me is too strong. Nasi and Curry any day! This dinner was the perfect end to my one week back in KL. Im loving the twin towers behind our group picture!

Skirt: Target

Shoes: Zara
Bag: Chanel
My favourite piece from my outfit is my skirt! Better picture here. This skirt was an impulse buy from Target! I saw it on the rack, picked out my size and went to pay without even thinking of how i was going to style it or why i wanted it. It worked out for me because i love the cutting and will definitely be featuring it more on this blog.

Kim Kim

Kim Kim, Faldo and Dave
Khaira

Camera: LCA+
Film: Kodak 400 ISO
Flash: Coloursplash flash

These are my first few shots from my LCA+. I am truly impressed with the camera's quirks and flaws. I am not a big fan of Coloursplash flash because the colour filter is too hard on the subject, like the first picture of Kim Kim. But the contrast between the background and Kim Kim is so vivid that i am starting to love the flash.

My LCA+ is always with me now. My friends are getting a bit annoyed at me for taking photo of them. I went to the Ramadan Bazaar (a bazaar that sell all sorts of Malaysian food for people to break fast with), i looked like a tourist holding two cameras #whocares #youwillthankmelater. I dug up my first fisheye camera, found that i still have film in it from over a year ago and i completely forgot about them. I just send 3 rolls of film to the shops and i cant wait to pick them up. Its going to be a pleasant surprise!

Happy fasting!

i want one.
"Mamachu! Stop kissing me!"
Amirudin Mahmud Girls.

Had a very big day today, where all the girls in my family went Baju Raya (Raya clothes) shopping. Ramadan starts tomorrow where muslims fast for a month and Hari Raya (Raya Day) is an islamic celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. It usually a two day celebration where we dress in our best traditional Malaysian outfits and visit people's houses, give or receive ang poa (packets of money) and eat until we pass out.

Usually i am big on Raya shopping because i get new clothes, shoes, handbag and etc. But this time...i couldn't care less. It took me less than 5 minutes to decide what colour and style i want - Black/Baju Pahang (Different states in Malaysia have different styles of traditional outfits). I felt a little bad that i picked a morbid colour cause Raya celebrations is supposed to be about happiness, unity and forgiveness. Black is the opposite of that. So i decided to be cliche and match with my parents - Emerald Green. Best part about the day was hanging out with my niece!!! She has grown so much since the last i saw her!!! I was worried she might not recognise me but hey, she has the coolest *Mamachu! she came running to me!!!

*Bongsu pronounced as bong-sue means youngest in Johor (a state in Malaysia, where my parents are from) slang, but the slang evolved from "sue" to "chu" like choo-choo train. Alani calls me Mamachu because im her youngest "mama" She can easily call me Aunty Kay, but i like to make things harder for her :P

In a month time, you get to see me in my Baju Raya!
