L'oreal Ever Sleek Precious Oil Treatment

Tuesday, 20 May 2014

I love it when brands have french translation on their products "precieuse" "miracle" "prodigieuse" somehow it makes the product sexier. I am a big fan of hair oils especially now with my bleached-in-desperate-need-of-a-trim ends. I find that hair oils soak up much faster and repairs my hair better.

I was using the Macadamia Hair Oil for years until my stock ran out. :( and being a #brokestudent, i needed to find a cheaper alternative. Went to my favourite shop ever, Priceline <3 <3 and i found this L'oreal Ever Sleek Precious Oil Treatment. My hair is currently at its longest ever. I have super thick straight hair with dry ends. Because my hair is thick and heavy, my hair gets really flat at my crown. So i needed something that doesnt weight my hair even more and doesnt grease my roots. Washing my hair is starting to become a burden. #dryshampooFTW

I didnt have high expectations of it because i just needed a temporary fix and i am a huge believer in the Macadamia Hair Oil. I usually use hair oils on towel dried hair. Instructions at the back of the bottle says two pumps - when i pumped two pumps, i thought, okay, thats alot? my hair is going to be greasy. But to my surprise, its so lightweight and actually helped detangle my hair! Anything that helps detangle my hair is already a winner. I have been using this product for almost 3 weeks and the only thing i dont like about it is that, it weighs my hair down when i apply it on dry hair. It only works on wet/towel dried hair. As compared to the Macadamia Hair Oil, i find this oil a bit heavier.

Overall, this oil helps maintain my dry frizzy ends for a good few hours, makes my hair smooth, smells wonderful like...vanilla jam and its affordable! If you have broomstick ends like my hair, your hair will thank you.

Uniform

Thursday, 15 May 2014

For the longest time, once a upon time, i lived in pants and oversized shirts. It was comfortable and decent. Until i realised that i was looking like a dude... This denim shirt is my favourite shirt of all time. I have only worn it less than 5 times. Lol. its so precious that i hardly wear it but really i hate ironing it! I send it to dry cleaning to get it washed. Thats why its so precious! I wanted a denim polo shirt and when i went to the shop to get it, they didnt have my size in the women. So i got it in Men!!

Sugar Police.

Friday, 9 May 2014

Obvious drop of picture quality in this entry because i was behind the camera, woohoo! This is a continuation of my little sugar story from yesterday's entry. The past two months, i decided to go off sugar and processed food. I knew it was going to be hard, so i did it slowly. I stopped drinking bottled water (eg: sodas, flavoured teas and etc) and juices. Once i got off the liquid sugar, i went off baked goods (eg: cupcakes, cakes, pastries and etc) then i went off chocolates and candies (including cereal) and the last thing i went off which to me is the hardest - CHIPS! POTATO CHIPS! My favourite thing in the world to eat is potato chips especially red rock deli honey soy chicken. It worked. i lost 2kg and i felt lighter.

my relapsed started when...i was at a friend's house and we were hungry. All he had was cereal. Fruit loops and Nutri grain. i was being a polite guest and i didnt want to come off as fussy. Erm, no thanks, i dont eat cereal. Do you have anything else? So, i reluctantly had a bowl of Fruit loops which i have to add is one of my favourite cereal after Cookie Crisp. Saying i didnt want it at all would be a lie.

When i got home, i complained to my housemates that i had cereal and it didnt help that while we were sitting around our dining table, Chelsea (housemate #3) was baking cupcakes and frosting them infront of us. She offered us a cupcake to share and it looked really good (she is the baker in the house). I thought you know what, fuck it, i already had a bowl of cereal, today is my cheat day! Yeah, cheat day every day from that day onwards!

We share a communal shelf in the house - mostly alcohol, cereal and chocolates. I had to tell Nyssa (housemate #2) to stop putting chocolates in the communal shelf because i will eat them and yeah, chocolates are kept away from me, in her room. Its been chocolate free for quite sometime until Mike (housemate #5 aka Sugar Police) bought a value pack of Tim Tams.

I have no will power. I blame it on my body and its stupid sugar cravings. i think i deprived my body of sugar from processed food that it started craving for it after i had that bowl of Fruit loops! i scoffed down most of the value pack and left two bars because i felt bad for eating most of them! if not, i would have gladly finished them all. Everytime i took one bar from the shelf, Mike (below) would pass a comment or give me a look - Wtf are you eating? One night we were all hanging out infront of the TV, when Stephen (housemate #8) mentioned a Tim Tam slam. Nyssa and Mike wanted to try it and before they got up. Mike turned to me "I hope you didnt finish all the Tim Tams"

So yesterday i went to Coles to buy my weekly groceries, TIM TAMS WAS ON SALE FOR 4 DOLLARS. i bought them and put them in the communal shelf. I had one bar walking back from Coles to my house and had another one while i cooked dinner (note: weak will power). While i was having dinner infront of the TV, the whole gang comes back from a shopping trip and Mike for some reason decided to go to the communal shelf to take something and of course...

Mike: Yo! Who bought Tim tams? (He is Canadian, i hope it explains his "yo!")

Kay: .....me?

Mike: What? Im disappointed.

Kay: TO BE FAIR, I ONLY HAD ONE (okay, i lied!)

Mike: to be fair... all the junk food in the house is bought by you and Chelsea!
Kay: ........

I honestly dont know what is his deal with my sugar diet but i am super grateful i have someone in the house that hates on me when i eat sugar. Because that following night, i was having my late-night cravings, so i decided to have cereal at 1230pm, when i walked out to the kitchen, Mike was sitting outside at the living room doing his assignment. i walked back in my room. HAHAHAHA!

This is the hardest part, starting the diet again. but i am determined! I am going back to my no sugar diet again starting NOW.

Pancakes, oh my!

Thursday, 8 May 2014

Freemantle or Freo is my second favourite place in Perth. i love the weekend markets, filled with food, life and culture. Some times too much buzz that it gets overwhelming! We only walked around the market once (too many people!!!), got a veggie roll and a sushi roll each and walked out from the market. PP (now known as SB) wanted to explore Freo more and check out the hidden lanes. We skipped the whole shopping part of freo and walked along the Notre Dame Uni buildings. We found this quaint office with beautiful door. i love the old rustic look of it and of course, we had to take my OOTD shots there.

Top: Asos
Cardigan: Asos
Jeans: H&M
Flats: French sole
Bag: Valleygirl
Sunglasses: Raybans

I went on a Asos binge a week ago and bought more than i should. i am sucker for Asos deals! I love the fact that i can get 6 items for less than 150 dollars, thats more than i can get at any other shops. i have a secret to tell, most of the items i bought were from the maternity line. I just buy them 2 sizes smaller and no one knows unless i mention it. Hehe!

Since we started our day early and needed our coffe fix and taaadaahhh! We found a cafe at the end of the road. I love finding cafes hidden in a corner, i got a flat white. I have to say it was perfect, my coffee was just nice. i hate it when some cafes overheat the milk. It makes it so unpleasant to drink.

We went all tourist and got on the Ferris wheel. Its my second time on the Ferris wheel and i still dont like heights. SB made me switch places so he can take a picture of me with a view. NOPE, i couldnt do it. Moving capsule at the highest peak. NOPE!

Me fooling around being all mysterious and Star Wars-ish because it was May the 4th. So lame!!

We ended our trip in Freo by visiting my favourite shop in Freemantle, The chart and map shop. My dream is to get a wall sized map in my future home, where i can just stare at it all day, everyday!

We stopped by Coles on the way back, so SB can buy snacks to bring back home. They amount of junk food he bought...was against everything i believed in. I avoided the chips and chocolate aisle for the longest time and walking through was HARD. I wanted everything!!!! i was having a mental fight with myself and had to just get out from the aisle and wait for SB at the end of it.

We ended the day with pancakes! The whole day when we were in Freo, we kept seeing people eating pancakes and it made me crave for it. I decided to just screw my no sugar diet and go for pancakes. Now because my body has had sugar after a long time, it wants chocolates, especially tim tams dipped in milk, rum and raisin ice cream from gelare, coffee with sugar and the list goes on.
Here is a funny incident with my housemate, Mike, he knows i have been off the wagon the past few days, i scroffed down a few tim tams infront of him... (fyi, i am known for the healthy one in the house)

i walked out to the kitchen, took a spoon from the dishrack, went to the freezer, took out my ice-cream and scooped a spoonful,

...just as i was about to put the spoon in my mouth. Mike comes up to me, pulls up his hand out infront of my face and says "NO!". Yep, that did it for me, i dropped the spoon and it was picked up happily by my other housemate. i went back to my room, sad but grateful. at least i wont have him teasing me "onom nom nom nom" with cookie monster gestures whenever i eat sweets.
